I really love the trend of having a table of old family wedding pictures at your wedding. It's a great way to honor your family on your wedding day, it's beautiful, it's affordable, and you'll definitely use these pictures in your home after the wedding.
Another great thing about these pictures are that they are sure fire entertainment. My cousin had a table like this at his wedding, and we spent a good 15 minutes at the table. We oohhed and ahhheddd over the photos from the 1950's, and giggled at the wedding fashions in the 1970's. I figure this is just fine, because of course our kids will love the 1970's fashions and mock our wedding choices. Miss Manners says that one of the key jobs of a wedding is to provide your kids with something to make fun of for a lifetime, which is a good way to keep it all in perspective.And on that note, happy weekend! Woo!

I'm doing this, but with all the guests and not just family. We thought it'd be like pulling teeth trying to get everyone's wedding pics, but we've been having a pretty good response. This is what I thought also, that it doubles has entertainment during the cocktail hour. Again, stop reading my mind!
I agree, I think it is a very nice touch. A friend now has the collage of wedding pics of her relatives in her home, and I just think there is something really special about it.

We are doing this as well. I hadn't considered asking for wedding photos with the RSVP's along with the family photos I was going to collect, but now I think I will. Thanks for writing this post so I could read it and everyone's comments as well!
Such a great idea! We're going to try to blow up a bunch (black and white, maybe 11x17) and stringing them on a ribbon, clothesline style. i hope it works out!

I love this and am doing it myself. We're just doing our parents and grandparents wedding photos and will have them showcased around the guestbook so it's one of the first things you see. I think its such a lovely and meaningful gesture!
